The long version....!

I grew up the oldest of five children in the Adelaide Hills. We lived on a farm, my Dad is a market gardener and from a young age we were out helping in the field. This instilled a strong work ethic and determination.

When my brother was very young he became very sick and my Mum who received no support from conventional medicine, sought out help from a naturopath and homeopath. The effects were immediate and profound, this led to a path of healing through natural medicine.

This exposure of natural medicine from such a young age had a very influential effect on me. We always used herbal medicine, homeopathy and dietary interventions to heal from almost any illness we had.

Growing up through my "rebellious" late teens and early 20's I did not treat my body well. Partying with large amounts of alcohol, working in the hospitality industry and living, working (and partying) in the UK took its toll on my physical and emotional wellbeing.

When I eventually landed back in Adelaide I decided that I needed to use my brain and study. I enrolled in a Bachelor of Health Science at Adelaide Uni and after one year decided I needed to change my focus into natural health. I enrolled in an Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy. I also qualified in Massage Therapy.

The college I was studying at unfortunately closed down therefore I transferred to Endeavour College of Natural Health in a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy).

I gave birth (a traumatic birth) to my first daughter in 2010 which completely threw a spanner in the works of my studies. I suffered in private through severe post natal depression for a year, which was only diagnosed when she was 8 months old.

This was one of the hardest times in my life, and for my partner as well. I felt so torn between being a good Mum and studying which I felt was a "selfish" thing to do.

Eventually I resumed my studies part-time and chipped away at my degree over the next 5-6 years.

In 2016 I had my 2nd daughter and took one semester off of study. After resuming study for one more semester I came to a cross roads. I was exhausted, suffering from lack of sleep with a baby and knowing that I still had years of study ahead of me.

After speaking with my college I decided to transfer to another degree that was on offer, the Bachelor of Complementary Medicine. I had enough credit that I would only have to study for one year full-time to obtain this degree.

So when my youngest daughter was one year old I studied full-time for a year. This entailed studying every day during her naps and 6 nights a week from 7pm-12am. I was beyond exhausted but I was so determined to finish. I would fall asleep while listening to lectures!

In December 2017 I completed my degree with 2 credits, 5 distinctions and 2 high distinctions. I am incredibly proud of my achievements and am strong believer and supporter of any Mum that thinks they can't study - YOU CAN!!

In 2018, not knowing what it was like not to study, I decided to embark and Meditation Leader Certification! I discovered meditation in 2017 when it was the only way I could switch off after hours of study. My mind was blown with the benefits and powerful insights that meditation offers. I wanted to share this skill with others.

Over this whole time since 2010 I have been working in health food shops where I can apply what I am learning on a daily basis. I absolutely love the environment and the amazing customers that walk through our doors for support in their health and wellbeing journey.

In 2020 I completed my Reiki Master studies from where my spiritual growth has rapidly increased. Energy work is where my true passion lies, with the underlying knowledge of years of education in the health sciences.

Whilst 2020 has been a crazy year for so many reasons, I decided to finally open my clinic and put my skills, knowledge and experience to use. I combine Wellness Coaching with Reiki, Flower Essences, Meditation and more in each session. I use whatever methods/products that I feel suit your needs best.

My next journey starts in 2021 by becoming a BodyMind Health Coach. This advanced certification which I will study for 9 months offers another level for my clients, where they can be empowered and take control of their own health.

I have a special affinity for working with exhausted mums who feel like there is no end to the To Do list and don't make time for their own health and wellbeing. You are my people and I cant wait to help you if you are ready!
